So you'd like to volunteer/work to help Maya Pedal in Guatemala!? Here is some core information about the project, about the work you might do, and the perks you can expect from this little pedal-powered project.

There are many great opportunities here for volunteer work, as well as sight seeing: volcanoes, lakes, mountain biking trails, Spanish language schools. Aside from helping out in our shop and getting to know the folks around Maya Pedal, it is likely you will also get to experience some of the wonderful partnerships we have with other small, local NGOs representing women, indigenous people, and agricultural workers - each working on unique community projects.

LOCATION

San Andrés Itzapa, Chimaltenango located 3/4 of an hour from Antigua; 15 minutes from the city of Chimaltenango; 1800km up from the ocean; next to an agricultural plain dominated by export crops: the base town of San Simon (Maximon) - the patron saint of drunkards, and people of the night; predominantly Kakchiquel speaking people; home of some of the nicest people you will ever meet; and now thick with bicycles!
